Closed for Summer Holidays

It's that time of the year again! We're taking a week off to visit Erlend's parents in Norway, which is nice. When we come back, we have to move into a different apartment so right now everything is in bags and boxes. The budgies don't seem to mind, they're just happy and chirping as usual. My brother is looking after them while we're gone, so they're in good hands.

The blog won't go offline, but I will be until August 15. I hope you all have a nice Summer, make sure to spend some time in the sunlight with your little birds, they love Summer too!

Sunny greetings from Bika, Erlend, Frodo and Isla :-)

    1. Hi! Thanks a lot for the comment! I also experienced that most budgies (especially the ones you buy from a pet store) are more scared of your hands than your face. They know we can use our hands to catch them and that's why they shy away when you come too close. They may also get annoyed because they think you're invading their personal space. The best way to convince them that the human hand is not their enemy, is to fill it with something they like. Offer your budgies a little bit of food every day, and keep talking to them while you're doing it. They'll associate the hand with something good, and the second step is that they will feel safe. Keep doing it on a daily basis, a little bit at a time :-) hope that helps!
