Old and wise

With the right care and the right food, the life span of a budgie varies between 15-20 years.

That means they outlive most of the pet rodents and maybe even cats, who generally die after 14-16 years!

  1. Hehe, those three budgies do look like wise old men! I wonder why birds live longer than other animals of the same size. Maybe because flying is good for you?

  2. I don't know, but I think you might be right :)
It's very good for budgies to fly around freely every day! They also live longer than budgies in the wild, because they're not exposed to all those dangers and harsch conditions...
